heading north on Van Ness Avenue / US 101 North. Then follow
the directions below “From US 101 North (Van Ness Ave.).”
Directions
from the East Bay:
Take the Bay Bridge (I-80 West) to San Francisco and take

Directions from
US 101 North (Van Ness Avenue):
When 101 North (Van Ness Ave.) reaches Lombard Street, it
turns left and continues west onto Lombard toward the Golden
Gate Bridge. After crossing Divisadero and then Broderick
Streets, move into the far-left lane, which will bring you
to a left-turn arrow. Follow the left-turn arrow, which means
you will continue on Lombard Street instead of veering right
onto Richardson. Two blocks up, after a 4-way stop, you will
enter the Presidio at the Lombard Gate.
After entering the Presidio, continue straight on Lombard,
past Letterman Drive and past a large office complex on your
right, until you come to a 3-way stop. Turn right onto Presidio
Boulevard.
Once you are on Presidio Boulevard, you will pass the Presidio
Leasing Office and come to a stop sign (at Letterman Drive).
Continue straight through the stop sign and look for a small
parking lot on your next right that will require you to make
a sharp right turn into it. You can park there and walk to
Building 1016, which is to the left of the parking lot as
you face the buildings. There is a large circular drive in
front of Building 1016. BFA is on the first floor, a few doors
down on your left after you enter.
If there is no room in the parking lot near 1016 Lincoln
Boulevard, you can continue on Presidio Boulevard (which becomes
Lincoln Boulevard) a little further, and you will see a large
lot on your left in front of the YMCA (marked “Gym”
on the map). You can park in the YMCA lot and walk back to
Building 1016.
Directions
from the North Bay:
Take US 101 South across the Golden Gate Bridge and proceed
to the Downtown/Lombard Street exit. Stay in the far right
lane. You may see a small green sign on the right for the
Presidio; ignore that sign. Continue in the right lane and
you will pass Lyon and Francisco Streets until you come to
Chestnut Street. Take a hard right onto Chestnut Street and
drive up to Lyon Street. Turn left on Lyon (watch for traffic
coming in both directions) and drive up to the 4-way stop.
Turn right onto Lombard Street, which takes you through the
Lombard Gate into the Presidio.
After entering the Presidio, continue straight on Lombard,
past Letterman Drive and past a large office complex on your
right, until you come to a 3-way stop. Turn right onto Presidio
Boulevard.
